If you are interested in community gardens, or just like taking a stroll in a beautiful garden setting while the kids play on the swings, come and have a look at Hilton Harvest Community Garden.
Located in the heart of Hilton, on the southwest corner of Hilton Primary School, Rennie Crescent South, Hilton Harvest was started in 2009 and has steadily grown to become a thriving community garden offering many social and gardening benefits to the community.
You can rent a plot to grow fantastic vegetables, help to plant and maintain our thriving orchard, tend to the chickens, make some compost, bring the kids down to let off some steam after school at Chook Club, or come and help out at our regular volunteer mornings. Check the calendar on the website for the latest dates for all activities.
And you can also see our fantastic Work For The Dole participants in action each Monday and Thursday, who have done wonders for the garden since starting in June 2016. Dave Bebbington (Nest Gardens) instigated the WFTD program and is the lead supervisor.
